July 5th 2009 turned out to be a mostly cloudy day with intermittent thunderstorms and rain showers over most of the Memphis area.

With all the clouds about and thunderheads dotting the sky, the setting sun provided a beautiful show of color and texture in the sky, which simply begged to be photographed. I made about 20 photographs over a period of five minutes or so, the sky changing rapidly in shape and color during that time.

This image, along with some of the others, was processed from the original RAW file and then I used Photoshop to enhance the contrast and colors to produce a series of impressions of the sunset. Other images can be found in my Alternative Projects Album on Facebook.
