Yesterday, I had the honor and privilege of photographing Wade & Julie Jenkins’ wedding at Emmanuel Methodist Church in Memphis.
A first for me was that this was also a family wedding for us, since Wade is Kathy’s nephew. It felt strange being in some of the photographs at a wedding I was also wroking at!
The weather was fantastic, the ceremony was wonderful and the reception at the Lichterman Nature Center was wonderful fun.
Everyone in the wedding party was great to work with, and we even had time to create some fun and unique photographs in the school playground, utilizing some of the play sets as props.
The reception party at the Lichterman Nature Center was incredible, with wonderful music and it was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and having a great time.

We spent some time before the daylight disappeared to create some portraits by the lake and on the balcony – all in all a really nice location for such a wonderful occasion.
All our love and best wishes go to Julie and Wade for a long and happy lifetime together. I can’t wait to work with you again soon on creating some more wonderful photographs for you both.

Today is the wedding day of Wade Jenkins and Julie Dorian. Wade is a key member of our family, being one of Kathy’s nephews, and I’m honored to photograph their wedding day for them – we especially extend our fondest welcome to Julie, as she becomes the newest member of the family.
I will post some sample images as soon I can. In the meantime, congratulations to you both and I’m sure it will be a great day!
It’s senior portrait time again! NOW is the time to be scheduling your senior portrait session with us and we still have some openings for ambassadors, with a free session and discounted prints etc.
Call me today at (901) 606-9105 to chat about your senior portraits and some of the different and unique things we can offer.

Amber & Chad were married on Saturday May 23rd 2009 and it was a privilege to be chosen to photograph their wedding in Olive Branch, MS. While the weather forecast called for rain and thunderstorms, we were very lucky to avoid both at all the key times of the day.
The reception at the South Fountain Inn, also in Olive Branch, was wonderful and everyone had a really fun time.
Congratulations to you both and we send our wishes for a lifetime of happiness together.
I am often asked what are the best products to display portraits, and my answer is always the same – canvas wall portraits. Without a doubt, these are the single most amazing way to display your cherished family portraits, children portraits or senior portraits, and they come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes.
Canvas wall portraits are so much more visible and have a lot more impact than the standard 8 x 10 that has been around for so long now, and which almost invariably end up in a drawer somewhere.
Because the canvas portraits I use are all in the gallery-wrap style, they come ready to hang – either unframed, or in one of the new incredible floating frames. Every time you look at your portraits, you will clearly see the love, warmth and devotion of your family.
As with everything I do, all portraits are 100% guaranteed and will give you and your family pleasure for a lifetime.

On Memorial Day, 2009, we took a late afternoon trip to Big Hill Pond State Park, near Pocahontas, TN. Although the weather called for intermittent thunderstorms and showers, we were very lucky and managed to avoid most of the rain.
This was our first visit to the park and we loved it there, so definitely a place for us to go back to again. The visitor center was closed when we arrived so we decided to take one of the trails to see where it went. After meandering through the wooded hillsides for a while, the trail came to a long boardwak through the oddly-named Dismal Swamp. There were a lot of bugs out at this time of day, so I would advise bringing plenty of bug spray, and to especially watch out for ticks, which seemed to be in abundance!
After returning to the car, we took a short drive down to the lake side and we spent some time creating some fun photographs of Wendy and Amy, who seemed to be having a good time:

All in all, we had a great time and I can certainly recommend Big Hill Pond State Park for a family day out, camping, fishing, hiking and a host of other activities.
There is little doubt that bridal portraits are one of the most important aspects of any wedding. This is why I like to spend the time several weeks before the wedding day to make sure we’re able to create a set of elegant portraits in a beautiful setting, on a day when the weather and light are both perfect.
Having your bridal portraits created on the wedding day itself is less than ideal – we have no guarantee that the weather will be suitable, the wedding location may not be the prettiest setting and the added pressures of the wedding day don’t allow you to relax as easily.
A separate bridal portrait session is also a great opportunity to practice putting on the gown & veil and it can help to highlight any areas that might need some adjustment prior to the wedding day.

It’s all in the details… Being a wedding photographer means a lot more to me than simply photographing the bride & groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen, the wedding ceremony and the bridal party. Obviously, these things are vitally important on the day, but it’s all the small details that really help to tie everything together into a unified whole that really means something to the couple.
Some wedding couples are surprised when I tell them I will be at the wedding location at least 3 hours before the ceremony. The reason I do this is to allow time for me to capture all the little things and the details that make their particular wedding unique.
Often, there will be small details at a wedding that a family member has spent time to create, or there will be some specific elements that carry a sentimental meaning for the couple – it’s these things that I work very hard to capture as part of their special wedding day, and which will make the wedding book as unique as they are.

Amy & Jason will be tying the knot in June and, on May 17th, we took a trip to the Memphis Botanic Gardens for their engagement portraits. I really enjoy and love these sessions; they are so much fun – and this one was no exception. They were simply wonderful to work with and we had a great time over the course of the afternoon as we made our around the gardens.
Shown here are a couple of images from the engagement portrait session and I’m really looking forward to Amy’s bridal portraits in June as well as the wedding itself.

Without spoiling the surprise too much for Mieko & Thom, here are a few of the images from the wedding day.
The wedding itself was pure magic – being both in English and Japanese. Afterwards, the newly-wed couple walked the short distance from the church to the reception, which provided a lovely opportunity to create some interesting photographs in the streets of Tupelo!
I can hardly wait for Mieko & Thom to see their wedding book and engagement book. Until then, many thanks to you both for allowing me the honor to be your chosen wedding photographer.
