I have just added the third of my planned five wedding stories from 2008 to the web site - Kellie & Allen Berger. How they met and became engaged is a very romantic story (I loved the part about the Opryland Hotel). To see the article, just click the link below:
My stepson, Tim, attends Christian Brothers High School and is privileged to be a member of all 3 of the school’s bands. 2009 will be a historic year for CBHS – The CBHS performing band is going to be playing at Carnegie Hall in New York, a first for the school (the home of the oldest high school band in America)!
The cost of transporting so many players and their instruments to New York, together with their stay, is quite significant. Therefore, we are looking at ways to help through various fundraising activities.
As both an artist and photographer, I’m lucky to be in a position to give something back to the community at large. So, I am now making available some of my original artwork to help support the school band trip to Carnegie Hall for 2009. At least 50% of the proceeds from all sales will be donated to the school for the purpose of helping to fund the trip. In addition to buying art for your home or office, you will also be helping the oldest high school band in America go to New York to perform at Carnegie Hall – what an honor!
To view the pieces currently on offer, please visit the Buy Art page of the web site.
Many thanks – Nigel
I have just added the second of my planned five wedding stories from 2008 to the web site - Amber & Steven Patton. How they met and became engaged is so romantic and makes a great read. To see the article, just click the link below:
Planning a wedding is not at all easy and can be very stressful for both the couple and their families. Avoiding the pitfalls is a lot easier when we learn from those who’ve already been through the process, so who better to share their wedding stories (the ups and the downs) than the brides and grooms themselves?
I’ve added a new section to the weddings area of the web site where I selected 5 brides & grooms to share their stories to help people just like you who might be planning a wedding. The first couple’s story is up on the site and the rest will be added very soon.

Have you ever wondered how old cars are disposed of, after they’ve been through the crusher? Well, I was lucky enough to find out last month when I was asked to photograph an auto shredder made by Magnatech Engineering, at Martin Bros. Scrap in Sardis, MS.
This beast photographed here is called a 72 x 104 auto shredder and can shred a car into tiny pieces in about 30 seconds flat! The cars are loaded onto a conveyor that carries them into the mouth of the machine, after which a series of hammers, crushers and air knives work at breakneck speed to reduce the automobile to a pile of unrecognizable pieces small enough to fit into your hand.
The photographs I took of the shredder and its components were used in the current issue of Recycling Today Magazine to illustrate an article on the shredder by Magnatech Engineering.
Yesterday, 19th October 2008, was the fall Mid-South Wedding Show at the Germantown Center. Here’s a photograph of the booth, taken just before the show opened.
What a great day, and it was wonderful to meet so many people. Congratulations on their forthcoming wedding plans to all the couples who visited the booth and spent time to chat with us.
Annie Syriac was kind enough to work at the booth with me, showing her new wedding and engagement books to everyone. So I would like to say a big Thank You to her for that, she did a wonderful job and I know everyone enjoyed talking with her.
For those who registered at the booth, I will be sending out the notifcation of the winner of our $200 gift certificate today, so keep an eye out in your inbox for exciting news!
I will be one of the vendors at the Mid-South Wedding Show at the Germantown Center this coming Sunday – October 19th 2008, from 11am to 5pm. I really love this wedding show and meeting so many wonderful people.
If you are planning a wedding and would like to book your wedding photographer, I strongly suggest that you call me or email me TODAY, as many of my available dates for 2009 may be gone after the show.
This week, I’m offering a Wedding Show Special – $100 off the cost of your wedding photography collection. The offer expires on 10/19/2008, so this is another good reason to get in there quickly!
Congratulations to Kellie & Allen Berger, who were married at La Pavillon on Saturday October 4th 2008!
What a great experience and a wonderful wedding! The weather was perfect, the location was just beautiful and we had such a fun time photographing this wedding for them.
This great image was taken at the end of the reception just before Kellie & Allen left – a whirl of fiery sparklers lighting up the happy couple!

Allen & Kellie are getting married this coming Saturday and I’m proud to be their chosen wedding photographer, so all the very best to them for a wonderful wedding and I can’t wait to create some amazing photographs for them.
They’re having their rehearsal this evening, but did you know that attending the wedding rehearsal is a standard part of my wedding collections? Most photographers either charge an additional fee to attend the rehearsal or just don’t offer it, which is a shame, as it’s a vital component of your wedding!
By being present at the rehearsal, I’m able to meet in person the minister officiating at the ceremony. I speak with them to make sure I understand what rules they might have for the photographer, and to find out if there is anything unusual or unique about the ceremony they’re planning. This goes a long way to making sure things go smoothly with the photography on the wedding day.
Also, I get to meet the wedding party, so that I’m not a total stranger to them on the day. This way, they will know who I am and will be more relaxed and having fun on the day, which will show up in the wedding photographs!
